Flame retardant EPS raw material gives excellent properties to processing and products:
1. Uniform original particles, and good fluidity of the particles.
2. High foaming speed.
3. Secondary foaming to achieve lower densities.
4. Excellent flame retardant properties, having passed the UL product safety certification of the United States.
5. Wide operating range, suitability for various plate machines, automatic machines and manual presses.
6. Uniform and fine particle pores, smooth and beautiful appearance of products.
7. Low shrinkage rate of finished products when plates are molded.
8. Good internal bonding, high toughness and high hardness of finished products.br /> 9. Recommendation for foaming ratio of 40 to 70 times, and corresponding improvement on the foaming ratio in the case of multiple foaming.br />
Flame retardant performance of plate or molded products
Our flame retardant EPS products have passed the tests conducted by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) of the U.S. with the approval number of E212192. Improper processing methods may reduce the flame retardant performance of ZKF foam plastics. If non-fire-retardant pigments are used in foam plastic, or it is mixed with ordinary EPS, it is likely to lower the flame retardant performance.
In order to obtain a certain level of flame retardancy, a certain time for storage is necessary to have the residual blowing agent to escape from the body of the foam plastic. The storage period mainly depends on the content of the residual blowing agent, the apparent density and the product size. For plate products, the following empirical data is recommended:
(In the well-ventilated state):
15kg/m3        20mmthick       A storage period of at least one week
50mmthick      a storage period of at least two weeks
30kg/m3        20mmthick      A storage period of at least three weeks
50mmthick      a storage period of at least three weeks

Recommended processing conditions
A. Materials Selection
Select the size of the particles according to the density requirements for plates. Select ZKF201, ZKF301, ZKF302 for low density (10-13 g/l) plates. Select ZKF302 or ZKF303 for plates with a density of 12-16 g/l. Select ZKF302, ZKF303 or ZKF401 for plates with a density of 16-24 g/l. Selecting ZKF401, ZKF501, or select ZKF-302LP, ZKF-303LP, ZKF-401LP, ZKF-501LP which have low-pentane flame retardant grades for plates with a high density of over 25 g/l.
B. Pre-foaming
Steam pressure: 0.15MPa-0.30MPa
Pre-foaming temperature: 96-106℃
Curing time: the secondary pre-foaming time interval is 4-10 hours.br /> First pre-foaming density is usually 1.5-1.6 times of the secondary foaming
C. Forming
Packaging Products
Packaging Products
Mobile mold steam pressure: 0.80-1.2 kgf/cm2
D. Plates
Main heating: 0.55-0.80 kgf/cm2
Cooling time: about 300-800 seconds, depending on the density of the plate and the properties of the machine
